Biodegradable plastics are not merely plastics that break apart; they are materials that decompose into carbon dioxide and water through microbial activity, ultimately returning to the natural environment. There are two types of biodegradable plastics: those derived from plants and those from petroleum. These materials have a usage lifespan because of their biodegradable properties. After this period, they tend to lose flexibility and are more prone to cracking under pressure.

Characteristics of H sugarcane straw

The H sugarcane straw is a biodegradable straw certified with the “OK Compost HOME” label by an international accreditation body. The shift from PLA to PBS as the material has enabled it to decompose in domestic composting facilities, which operate at lower temperatures than industrial compost systems. Additionally, the recommended shelf life has significantly improved from 12 months post-production to 18 months.
